Best Foreign SUVs for Sale near Fairfield, CT

If you have been searching for the best foreign SUVs for sale near Fairfield, CT, you have probably noticed the same problem most Fairfield County buyers run into: there are too many good options. The luxury SUV market has expanded so far in the past decade that the question is rarely “which brand” anymore; it is “which size, which character, and which one fits how I actually drive.” An X5 and a Cayenne can both be the right answer to two slightly different questions. This guide walks through the foreign luxury SUVs we typically see Fairfield County buyers consider, grouped by what each one is genuinely good at.

Bentley Bentayga: The Foreign Luxury SUV Flagship

The Bentayga sits at the top of the foreign luxury SUV segment and is our centerpiece. Bentley launched the Bentayga in 2016, and the lineup has grown into one of the most complete luxury SUV ranges available. The current generation includes:

•      Bentayga V8. The volume Bentayga V8 is powered by a 4.0L twin-turbo V8 producing 542 horsepower, with 0-60 mph in 4.1 seconds and a top speed of 187 mph. Five-seat layout, with optional rear seating configurations including individual rear comfort seats. Pricing starts around $250,000 for new examples.

•      Bentayga S and S Black Edition. A dynamically tuned Bentayga with sport-oriented suspension calibration, larger wheels, and Mode-specific tuning. The S Black Edition adds blacked-out exterior styling for buyers who want a more understated presence.

•      Bentayga Speed. The performance flagship, with a 6.0L twin-turbo W12 powertrain producing over 626 horsepower in earlier model years. The Speed represents the apex of the lineup for performance-focused buyers, although availability varies by model year as Bentley evolves the powertrain mix.

•      Bentayga Hybrid. The Bentayga Hybrid is a plug-in hybrid combining a 3.0L turbocharged V6 with an electric motor and an 8-speed automatic. Top speed of 158 mph, with meaningful electric-only daily commute range for buyers whose round-trip falls inside the battery range.

•      Bentayga Extended Wheelbase (EWB). The long-wheelbase Bentayga adds rear legroom and is built around rear-passenger comfort. Azure and First Edition EWB trim focus the experience on rear-seat luxury, which is the right call for owners who are driven more often than they drive themselves.

German Luxury SUVs: Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche

The four German brands make up the bulk of foreign luxury SUV inventory in Fairfield County outside of the Bentley range. They overlap heavily in size and price, so the decision usually comes down to character.

Audi Q5, Q7, and Q8

Audi tends to be the most balanced of the German lineup. The Q5 is the volume compact: refined ride, mature Virtual Cockpit interface, and quattro all-wheel drive standard. The Q7 is the brand’s 7-seat option, with a usable third row, optional V6 or V8 (the SQ7), and an air-suspension ride that holds up across long highway drives. The Q8 takes the Q7 chassis, drops the third row, and adds a coupé-style roofline for buyers prioritizing design over space. SQ5, SQ7, and RS Q8 variants sit on top of the lineup for performance-leaning buyers.

BMW X3, X5, and X7

BMW tends to lean towards sports. The X3 has historically been the more communicative compact luxury SUV: better steering feedback than its segment peers, with the X3 M making no apologies for being a 500+ horsepower performance variant. The X5 is the segment benchmark for many reviewers, with strong powertrains across xDrive40i, xDrive50e plug-in hybrid, X5 M50i, and X5 M trims. The X7 is the 3-row flagship, larger and quieter than the X5, with a presence on the road that turns heads in a way most luxury SUVs do not.

Mercedes-Benz GLC, GLE, GLS, and G-Class

Mercedes is the breadth play. The GLC is the volume compact, the GLE the family midsize (with available 5+2 seating and a wide engine range from 4-cylinder to V8 AMG), and the GLS the full-size 3-row that approaches Maybach refinement at the top of the trim range. The G-Class sits in its own category: body-on-frame, three locking differentials, and a shape that has barely changed since 1979. Owners who want a G want a G; everything else is a compromise from that starting point.

Porsche Macan and Cayenne

Porsche is the driver’s answer in the foreign luxury SUV segment after the Bentayga Speed. The Macan is widely considered the sportiest compact luxury SUV available: it drives more like a tall sedan than an SUV, and the Macan S and Macan GTS reward enthusiastic driving. The Cayenne is more flexible, offering V6, V8, and plug-in hybrid powertrains across base, S, GTS, Turbo, and Turbo GT trims. Both are credible daily drivers and meaningfully more athletic than their German peers.

British Luxury and Capability: Land Rover and Range Rover

Range Rover and Land Rover models occupy a different lane than the Bentley and German brands. Where a Bentayga leads with hand-built luxury and a Cayenne is sporty, the Range Rover lineup leads with off-road capability and presence.

•      Range Rover Sport. Midsize 5-seater that pairs the Range Rover’s heritage with more dynamic on-road manners. Available with V6, V8, and electrified powertrains.

•      Range Rover. The flagship. Larger, quieter, and more rear-seat oriented than the Sport. Long-wheelbase versions add executive-class rear passenger space.

•      Defender. Modern reinterpretation of the iconic Defender. More capable off-road than nearly anything in the foreign luxury SUV segment, and surprisingly polished on pavement. Available in 90 (short-wheelbase 2-door), 110 (4-door 5- or 7-seat), and 130 (extended 8-seat) configurations.

Japanese and Korean Luxury: Lexus, Genesis, and Volvo

Lexus, Genesis, and Volvo round out the foreign luxury SUV market with different priorities than the Bentley and German performance brands.

•      Lexus RX, GX, and LX. Lexus leads with reliability and a calmer ownership experience. The RX is a midsize with hybrid options that genuinely deliver on fuel economy. The GX and LX are body-on-frame, more rugged, and oriented toward towing and serious capability.

•      Genesis GV70 and GV80. Genesis is a newer entrant in this segment but has built a real product. The GV70 (compact) and GV80 (midsize) offer strong value, distinctive styling, and equipment levels that compete directly with the Germans at slightly lower price points. Worth looking at if you are willing to consider a brand without 50 years of heritage.

•      Volvo XC60 and XC90. Volvo leans into safety and Scandinavian design. The XC90 is one of the most pragmatic 7-seat luxury SUVs, with strong family-focused features and a calmer driving character than the German performance brands. T8 plug-in hybrid powertrains add efficiency to longer commutes.

How to Narrow Your Shortlist

With the lineup above as the map, a few practical questions narrow the field quickly:

•      How many people, how often? If you genuinely need 7 adult-usable seats, the GLS, Q7, X7, Range Rover, Cayenne (with optional rear seat), Defender 110/130, XC90, GV80, and LX make the list. Five seats are plenty for most households, which opens up the Bentayga, Bentayga EWB, and most of the rest of the segment.

•      Sport, comfort, or capability? Sport: Bentayga Speed, Macan, Cayenne, X3, X3 M, X5 M, SQ5, SQ7, RS Q8. Comfort: Bentayga, Bentayga EWB, GLE, GLS, RX, XC90. Capability: Range Rover Sport, Defender, GX, LX.

•      How long is your commute? Long highway drives reward the larger SUVs (Bentayga, Bentayga EWB, X7, GLS, Q7, Range Rover, XC90) where cabin quietness pays off. Short city duty rewards the compacts (Q5, X3, GLC, Macan, GV70, XC60), which park more easily and use less fuel.

•      Gas, hybrid, or plug-in hybrid? If your commute is under 30 miles each way, a plug-in hybrid (Bentayga Hybrid, X5 xDrive50e, GLE 450e, Cayenne E-Hybrid, XC90 T8, RX 500h) can cover most daily driving on electric. For long highway use, traditional gas powertrains often make more sense.

Financing, Trade-Ins, and the Buying Process

We work with multiple lenders, including national luxury-vehicle finance partners and Connecticut credit unions. Most buyers complete pre-qualification online before the visit, which keeps in-store paperwork short.

•      Soft-pull pre-qualification online with no impact to your credit score

•      In-house trade-in appraisal with a firm written offer the same day

•      Lease-buyout consulting for buyers coming off a luxury lease

•      Extended service contracts available across most foreign luxury brands

•      Out-of-state buyer support, including title and registration paperwork

The Bottom Line

The foreign luxury SUV market is wide, and the right answer is rarely the brand with the loudest marketing. It is the model that matches how you actually drive, how many people you actually carry, and where you fall on the sport-comfort-capability triangle. For buyers at the top of the segment, the Bentayga answers more of those questions than any other SUV on the market. For buyers shopping the broader segment, the shortlist usually comes down to two or three models worth driving back to back. We can help you build that shortlist before you visit, so the time on our lot is spent driving rather than browsing.

If a person writes a check without sufficient funds in an associated account to cover it, the check will bounce, or be returned for insufficient funds. Each state has laws regulating how merchants may respond to bounced checks. In Connecticut, the merchant may file a civil suit and press criminal charges if the check writer does not reimburse him for a bounced check after the merchant has sent several notices regarding the matter.

Posted Notice Requirement

Merchants and other business owners who accept checks must post a notice where customers are likely to see it warning them of the potential consequences of writing bad checks. The notice must include the civil penalties that bad check writers may face, the appropriate Connecticut statute number and an advisory that the check writer may also face criminal penalties

Civil and Criminal Penalties

As of 2010, civil courts may require the check writer to reimburse the merchant for the value of the check plus pay up to $750 if he has no back account or $400 if the check is returned for insufficient funds. If the merchant chooses to press criminal charges, the bad check writer may face a fine of up to $1,000 and up to one year in jail. Writing a bad check is a felony charge if the check was for more than $1,000 and a misdemeanor if written for a lesser amount.

Required Written Notices

If a check bounces, the merchant must send the check writer a letter by certified mail at the check writer's last known address or place of business. Usually this letter is sent to the address on the writer's check. The letter must inform the writer that the check was returned ask him to reimburse the merchant for the amount of the check and inform him of the potential criminal or civil penalties if he fails to do so. If the check writers does not respond to the letter within 15 days of receipt, the merchant must send a second letter. This letter must inform the check writer that he has 30 days to reimburse the merchant before the merchant takes legal action against him. Both letters must be written in both English and Spanish.
